Municipal Community Grant Program

The Town of Smiths Falls recognizes the valuable contributions made by community organizations, volunteer groups and individuals to improve the well-being of the community and the quality of life for its residents and to drive tourism and economic growth. The Town is committed to providing modest financial assistance to those eligible applicants through this grant program. The program budget is access and approved by Council through the annual budgeting process.

This grant will provide in funding to support or enhance operational and programming capacity, including minor capital investments for local not-for-profit organizations, as well as provide funding for non-incorporated groups and individuals (including business owners) looking to host events, activations and programs within the community. 
As of 2024, the On The Roll Program as been incorporated into the Community Grants application to streamline all municipal funding requests.Applications can be submitted between November 1st - 30th for the following year project.  Additional submission will be considered throughout the program year, on a first-come-first-served basis, while funding is available. Those approved for funding must enter into a funding agreement and complete the annual report to be considered eligible.

Community Improvement - Buildings and Property Investments

The Town of Smiths Falls Community Improvement Plan (CIP) was created to help improve accessibility, create attainable rental units, reuse empty buildings and properties and improve the street face of buildings in the Town. The CIP helps  eligible property owners, business owners and tenants by providing funding that may reduce the cost constraints for certain eligible works.

Ontario Anti Hate Security and Prevention Grant, Winter 2023-24 Intake

The Ontario Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant Winter 2023-24 will provide funds to eligible faith based, cultural, 2SLGBTQQIA+, First Nations, Inuit, Metis and Urban Indigenous organizations and communities to enhance or implement measures to ensure community spaces remain safe and secure from hate-motivated incidents.
